Disposing of used oil is a very important step to take when changing your oil. Doing so properly ensures that it stays out of our environment and can be recycled for future usage. The same goes for recycling oil filters.

In most cities there will be a public disposal area for used oil. Other places to take your old oil would be auto parts store, service garages, other businesses that may actually use old oil for heat in the winter, and possibly the local fire department like in my town.

2. Choosing the right oil filter.
3. Changing your engine oil.
